Sydney came to Arizona to practice law but has always loved the theater and is thrilled to be part of this important and relevant production. Since retiring she has appeared in several productions at Theatre Artists Studio, Desert Stages Theater, Hale Theatre Center and numerous times at the Herberger Lunch Time Theatre. Favorite roles include Andi Lee in (DST), Mrs. Meers in Thoroughly Modern Millie (DST), Mrs. Brown in Me and My Girl (Hale), Gingy in Love, Loss and What I Wore (DST), LIta Encore in Ruthless (DST), Sue Smith in No No Nanette (Hale) and Sr. Mary Theresa in Sister Act (Hale). Thank you to this talented cast and crew for their dedication and commitment to this project, and a special thanks to Chris and Charles for this opportunity.



The Trial of the Catonsville Nine

Fifty years ago nine people, including two Catholic priests, entered the Selective Service office in Catonsville, MD and removed 378 draft cards and burned them in the parking lot with homemade napalm to protest the war in Vietnam. Based on the trial transcripts, the play delves into the moral and religious motives of the nine, and why "the burning of paper not children."
